"My doctor told me to quit throwing dinner parties for 4 unless there are 3 other people - [sigh]" - Gramps
My serving size is small. Especially now I'm not burning a lot of calories.. If the hamburger has a lot of fat so it Cooks down quite a bit, I can eat a full one. If it doesn't shrink down much, I usually eat a half.
I have to have an acid Source at every meal. Acid sources are Italian seasoning, 2 dill pickles, rhubarb, grapefruit. I usually do grapefruit and a half of a stalk of rhubarb as a gauge on how much I eat. It helps me not have heartburn and with digestion. On occasion I will use like a teaspoon of organic apple cider vinegar in a little bit of water and just drink it. But that's Last Resort.
I drink Almond milk (60 calorie unsweetened) at every meal (Walmart's Great Value is the cheapest by far)
PHOSPHORUS: I need to have sources of phosphorus in my diet frequently. That would be salmon, turkey and chicken and nuts. Nuts do not have to be organic.
HEALTHY FATS: It's important for my normal diet to have about one-third of the calories for my day to be in healthy fats. And almond butter also has phosphorus that I need for my diet right now to help rebuild bone. I eat lots of almond butter.
OILS: I have to cook my foods in healthy oil such as avocado oil olive oil coconut oil or animal fat off of an organic animal. Even a small amount of other oils will set off my autoimmune problem
FRUITS & VEGETABLES (everything must be organic):
BERRIES: I can do all organic berry's including cranberries, but not the kind you buy in the store. It has to be sweetened with organic apple juice. I have some here.
FRUIT: I eat quite a few organic Granny Smith apples and I have my organic pears and apples I have dried too. I have both Granny Smith and Golden Delicious dried. I can eat as many as I want Granny Smith but have to keep it down to about four or five slices to the other. Organic grapefruit, lemons, limes, honeydew & canteloupe are all ok.
VEGETABLES: All organic vegetables except tomatoes, potatoes, peppers, and eggplant. I like to eat organic celery, peas, carrot sticks (but they need to be the small ones so they don't set off my TMJ problem, or I will slice them in my food processor). I can only do small amounts of organic corn. I prefer organic Iceberg or romaine lettuce not the mixes that are organic in the clear tubs. (I do eat a lot of organic spinach that comes in the tubs). I will eat the organic salad mixes that do not include dressing. I am allergic to Cilantro. Plain lettuce is good, doctor up as specified. I eat a lot of squash (butternut, spaghetti, etc.)
SEA FOOD: Crab, salmon, or about anything as long as it is WILD CAUGHT (if it doesn't say wild caught, it won't do)
MEAT: Must be grass fed or organic, no hormones or antibiotics.
SALT: Can not be iodized. Sea salt is best.
NOODLES: Organic spaghetti squash
SEASONINGS: The seasonings in herbs for my Meats for soup on my Foods do not need to be organic with the exception of garlic salt and onion salt. When cooking meat I always use my organic garlic salt because the stuff you get in the store has fillers that will set off of my response. Please don't use non-organic onion salt or garlic salt. No additives of any kind.
OTHER: Organic black beans, kidney beans. Nutritional yeast (doesn't have to be organic)
Meat:
Smith's (they have some)
Walmart (not steaks or roasts ...they're never good)
Produce:
Gooseberries
Costco
Smith's
Walmart (Small selection)
