Lemon Sauce

This goes great on the bread pudding recipeFrom the kitchen of:  KimINGREDIENTS:

• 1 Cup white sugar

• 2 Tbs cornstarch

• 1-1/4 Cup water

• 3 Tbs butter

• 1-1/2 tsp grated lemon zest

• 1-1/2 Tbs lemon juice (if you have real lemons instead of the bottled stuff, the sauce has more of a zing to it and it tastes more like real lemon)

• 1/8 tsp lemon extract

• 1 drop yellow food coloring if desired

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. In a saucepan, mix together sugar, cornstarch and water.  Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture is thickened.

2. Remove from heat and stir in remaining ingredients until well mixed
