"My doctor told me to quit throwing dinner parties for 4 unless there are 3 other people - [sigh]" - Gramps
We call this "The Jello"... if we're going to make a jello, it's usually this one. My sister often does the same cream cheese thing, but with different flavors (strawberry, raspberry, etc), but the orange/peach mixture is the classic version.
From the kitchen of: The Borens
INGREDIENTS:
6 oz, pkg orange jello
2 C boiling water
8 oz pkg cream cheese
3 C blended peaches no juice - or only a little or it won't set
INSTRUCTIONS:
Dissolve the jello in the boiling water.
Put the cream cheese in the blender and pour the hot jello over it (you can put in a pretty cold brick of cream cheese, because the hot water will melt it.
Blend well and pour into 9X13 pan. (I like to add the peaches to the blender too)
Pour blended peaches into pan and mix thoroughly.
Refrigerate 4 hours to set (that's what my Mom says, I don't know how long it really takes...)
Frost with Cool Whip (and make sure you have a nice design on top - that was the coveted job at our house...)
MAKES: 9X13 pan (serves 12... or should I say, it makes 12 servings)
