"My doctor told me to quit throwing dinner parties for 4 unless there are 3 other people - [sigh]" - Gramps
The cake we made for Emmy's 8th birthday. It looks like a giant Oreo cookie. The filling tastes just like cookies 'n cream ice cream. It is very simple to make and tastes really good. I'll definitely make this cake again.

INGREDIENTS:
1 (18.5 oz) pkg devil's food cake mix
4 (1 oz) squares Baker's semi-sweet chocolates (I used approx 2/3 c semi sweet choc chips since that's what I had)
1/4 c butter
1 (8 oz) pkg cream cheese, softened
1/2 c sugar
2 cups thawed cool whip
12 Oreo cookies, coarsely crushed
INSTRUCTIONS:
Heat oven to 350 degrees.
Prepare cake batter and bake in 2 (9-in) round pans as directed on package. Cool cakes 10 mins in pans. Invert into wire racks. Cool completely.
Microwave chocolate and butter in small microwaveable bowl on HIGH 2 min. or until butter is melted. Stir until chocolate is completely melted. Cool 5 min. Meanwhile, beat cream cheese and sugar in large bowl with mixer until blended. Gently stir in COOL WHIP and crushed cookies.
Place 1 cake layer on plate, spread with cream cheese mixture. Top with remaining cake layer. Spread top with chocolate glaze; let stand 10 min. or until firm. Keep refrigerated.
My kids wanted to put whole Oreos on top, so we did.
MAKES: Serving says 16. I think that's about right.
