"My doctor told me to quit throwing dinner parties for 4 unless there are 3 other people - [sigh]" - Gramps
A LITTLE NOTE HERE ABOUT THE RECIPE This is a German Dish I found in our international cookbook.
Put the bacon on the inside of the rouladen didn't cook very much, grossing us out. So I decided to do it again and put it on the outside of the roll. YUMMM! It is one of my favorite things to eat!
From the kitchen of: Mom Groneman
INGREDIENTS:
Thin sliced roast (raw meat) about 1/4 " preferably, about 4.5" x 6" cut across the grain
Lay out the beef slices. Salt and pepper
Apply a liberal amount of Mustard in a zigzag across the beef
Take thin sliced onion, dill pickles across the length of the beef. Roll the beef up with the onion and pickles inside.
Wrap bacon around the outside and toothpick on the ends to keep it secure
INSTRUCTIONS:
Fry on all sides until the bacon is cooked as you desire. We cook ours until crispy.
EAT!
MAKES: Pizza. (just kidding!...this is Dad moving this recipe to where it belongs)
