Death Contract: A Reaper has a magical item known as a Death Contract which they can summon at-will while outside of combat. This contract updates itself with the name, location, and details on its next target. Death Contracts are bound to a Reaper, and cannot be stolen (as the Reaper can just re-summon the item back to their hands). Those whose name is in the Death Contract can be touched by the Reaper as a melee attack, and on a successful hit they receive another attack using the Reaper's Drive against their Bodily Defense. If this attack to their Bodily Defense hits, they are slain. It is possible to be a willing recipient of this attack, in which case it only needs to touch the recipient to slay them.
Reapers, also known as Lesser Reapers or Minor Reapers are entities of death, seeking out the living whose time has come. They rarely if ever divert their attention away from finding mortals whose time has come, and usually when they do divert their attention, it's because they were attacked by someone while on their journey.
Despite their terrifying appearance, Reapers are not evil by nature - as is the nature of death. It just is. And these Reapers take no pleasure nor pain in their actions, executing them with almost mechanical precision. More often than not, Reapers arrive to end the suffering of those dying of old age, telling the mortal their time is up, and to come to the afterlife peacefully. They give the mortal seven chances, one for each stage of grief, before resorting to taking them by force. Usually by the seventh visit, their targets welcome the Reaper.
