Skill performing and attacking with a weapon.
Ability Score(s): Precision + Agility
Usage: Weapon is used as the attack roll against opponents when using weapons of a particular type. Like Divination, a weapon group must be chosen for Weapon.
The available weapon groups are found on the weapons page, but examples include Weapon (Swords), Weapon (Polearms), and Weapon (Axes).
Ranged-only weapons (not thrown weapons) use only Precision. This includes bows, and in settings where it's appropriate - firearms.
Characters are able to score critical hits so long as they are Competent Rank or higher with a particular weapon group. A critical hit is scored by sacrificing 2d4 points of the weapon's Integrity, or rolling all 10s on the attack roll (aka a natural 30 result).
On a critical hit, the weapon's damage is doubled.
Characters are able to critically miss so long as their Weapon skill rank is less than Master. A critical miss occurs when missing an attack roll by half or more. In addition to this, a critical miss reduces the weapon's Integrity by 2d4.
Weapons can be used to parry similar to how one can dodge an oncoming attack. Doing so expends 2 Integrity of the weapon as well as 2 Stamina to perform. Once performed, you gain a bonus to your Physical Defense based on your skill with the weapon you're choosing to parry with plus any other bonuses you gain from parrying.
Players can make an amount of attacks on their turn depending on their skill with the weapon group in question.
