Shugenja

Japanese diviners and priests who sought physical and mental perfection through constant training and study.

Prerequisites

Shugenja must have 3 or higher in Reason, Intuition, and Drive, must have the Divine Inspiration trait, and must be from Japan

Skills

Shugenja receive the following skills;

Persuasion, Intimidate, Remember Detail, Etiquette, and Genealogy at Apprentice Rank.

Logic, Religion (Taoism and Buddhism), Language (Read/Write): Japanese, and Storytelling at Trained Rank.

Arcana, Spellcasting, Ritual, Symbology, and Philosophy at Competent Rank.

Equipment

Shugenja receive the following equipment for their job; regular clothing, a straw hat, and ritualistic trinkets.

Shugenja don't make any money per month as they reject all earthly possessions beyond their clothing and tools.

Spellcasting

Shugenja are a spellcasting occupation and use the spellcaster calculation for total Magic Points. When taking this occupation you learn one of the "Basic" powers and two elemental powers associated with the chosen element.

Training

Shugenja are ascetics who choose to deepen their bond with the world around them and it costs 6 TP in order to take it as an occupation. In this attempt to seek perfection, they acquire various elemental powers.

Shugenja also do well when combined with any other Religious occupations.
