Haggling for better prices.
Ability Score(s): Rhetoric + Intuition
Usage: Used in an attempt to get better prices on goods you're buying or selling, often Haggling is an opposed test against itself with the two trying to one-up one another, however other skills may be used at GM's discretion or a set DC using the target's Mental Defense.
Both rolls are tested against each other and the higher of the two rolls is the winner. Your roll is used as the benefit in price (in percentage). If you are the buyer you receive that much as a discount, and if you are the seller you increase the value of your goods by that amount. Thus if your roll was a 26% you increase the price of the item you want to sell by that much (multiplying the price by 1.26).
Buyers or sellers are free to decline paying, as this merely increases the perceived value by the buyer/seller instead of actually increasing its market value. Declining over price is usually only done however if they are unable to purchase the goods doing so would detriment them in some way (such as putting them into massive debt). Players are always free to decline a price they don't like, but keep in mind you may not always find another seller who can give you a better deal...
