The skill focuses in the prowess required to cast spells.
Ability Score(s): Spellcaster's Primary Attribute
Usage: Usage of Spellcasting is similar to that of an attack roll, being treated as a "Weapon" skill for spells. Abilities, talents, and other benefits which apply to "attack rolls" also apply to Spellcasting rolls made in this manner.
Characters unable to cast spells are unable to take Spellcasting as a skill. There may be exceptions listed however with spell-like abilities requiring Spellcasting to use, allowing them to take Spellcasting in those special circumstances.
Minor Spell
Spellcasting also enables the usage of 'minor spells', harmless and worthless (in combat) but are common among mages to make them more unique, convenience, or simply for fun. Minor spells are restricted to descriptive flavor rather than having much mechanical benefit, and usually amount to things such as using a gentle breeze to make your coat move, or changing the smoothness of a pebble. Minor spells don't require MP or a Spellcasting check to perform.
Spells use the same attacks per round as weapons, expending attacks per round as if they were a weapon.
