Alignments: Serpents of Eden (Faction), Yaldabaoth (Religious), Compassion (Ideology), Falsehoods (Ideology)
Followers of the great serpent and archon Yaldabaoth, these followers are those who understand the archon is not the true creator of all things, but have instead bought a new lie masked behind truth: that Yaldabaoth is not the true creator and instead an emanation of Sophia, however by emanating Yaldabaoth into existence without her partner she ended up creating the true savior and champion for mortals - a being powerful enough to stand against other deities, but in touch with the physical world so as to be able to relate to humanity.
Those who follow the way of the Serpent of Eden believe lies are necessary to convert others to Yaldabaoth, that the truth is harder to convince others of because of the 'insidious nature' of YHVH, believing they must fight His lies with their own. In truth, the followers are manipulated by Yaldabaoth by deliberately following him, opening their minds and reason to being tampered with and making them the perfect, obedient slaves for him to use as he pleases.
The following are options only available to characters who are part of the Serpents of Eden. GMs are free to change the Serpents of Eden as a faction to their own, but it's not recommended to remove the faction-based restrictions on character choices presented here.
Masked Lie: When making a Trickery check to lie, even if you fail the check the culprit thinks that you believe the lie. Under normal circumstances when you fail to lie to someone they can tell you're trying to trick them. In this case however, they instead believe someone else has fooled you, potentially avoiding the negative repercussions of having lied to them. This is up to GM discretion, however failing by 10 or failing against certain individuals may still reveal yourself as the culprit.
Insidious Suggestion: When attempting to force an individual to take an action they normally wouldn't want to take through subterfuge the increase to the opponent's Mental Defense is only 25. Normally, they increase their Mental Defense against this by 50.
