Striking from the dark, assassins kill stealthily and quickly before slipping back to the shadows out of sight.
Prerequisite(s): Must have taken Assassin at least once.
Kiss of Death (Simple Technique): By spending 5 Stamina you can add +2d8 to your next weapon damage roll, counting as the weapon's damage type. If this is being used while wielding any dagger or kukri you increase the dice from +2d8 to +2d20.
Hamstring (Simple Technique): When attacking an opponent who is affected by a status effect, deal an additional +2d6 points of damage per severity (+2d6 Low Intensity, +4d6 Moderate Intensity, and +6d6 Severe Intensity). You can spend 4 Stamina when performing this to instead double the amount of dice gained from this talent (4d6, 8d6, 12d6 respectively).
Jugular Cut (Simple Technique): When making an attack with a one-handed slashing weapon if the opponent doesn't have any armor on their head (or their head armor's Defense Points are 0) you can choose that your attack hits their head, regardless of whether they try to direct it elsewhere.
Disembowel (Sword Technique): You can spend 4 Stamina if you hit your opponent, choosing to deal your minimum rolled damage to their body and inflicting Bleed at Severe Intensity. In addition if you deal any Hit Point damage to the opponent you reduce their Bodily Defense by the amount of Hit Point damage they took. The bleed and penalty to Bodily Defense both last for 2d4+1 rounds.
Undesirable Target: On your turn you can choose to spend 5 Stamina, and for 1d4+1 rounds unless an enemy is adjacent to you they do not go out of their way to target you. This effect ends if you choose to make an attack during its duration.
Sense Weakness: You're able to innately sense and ascertain the weaknesses of opponents through a quick glance. You can make an Anatomy check (DC 25 + opponent's current HP) and on a successful check you automatically know any weaknesses they possess as well as which Defense of theirs is the lowest. This can be used against the same target once per day.
Misericorde: Named after the type of knife often used for killing blows on downed opponents, this practice by assassins is instead meant to take advantage of an opponent being down in order to slay them quickly. Against an opponent who is adjacent to you and prone you can use Kiss of Death, Hamstring, Jugular Cut, or Disembowel (choose one) without spending any Stamina to perform it. In order to do this you cannot move before or after this is performed. You must already have at least one of the appropriate talents in order to benefit from this.
