*Read and complete the questions for "Bridges to Remember." This is due on Thursday, September 4, 2014. *Homeward Bound books - please read on a nightly basis. Students are required to read these books at home. Each student needs to turn in 2 reading log sheets per Interim, and a total of 4 reading log sheets per report card. Your child will receive a grade for turning in his/her reading logs.
Spelling: Our green words will be two-syllable compound words. Have your child read the first root of the compound, then the second, and finally the whole word. Our green word papers will show the compound word divided on one side and written as one word on the other. Whenever appropriate, tell students that compound words have related roots, so that a pigpen is a pen for pigs, and a dishpan is a pan for dishes. Students will have similar compound words on the Friday spelling test.
Please have your child practice writing the red words three times each on the pages provided. This homework is due on Wednesday, September 3, 2014. The final spelling test will be on Friday, September 5, 2014.
