Homework:

Reading Activity - Hibernation

Math Activity - Counting Money

Review the names for shapes and solid figures.

Read over the activities completed throughout the week. They are a great review for the Reading NWEA which is on Wednesday. The Math NWEA will be on Friday.

Practice addition and subtraction flashcards.

Please Note: There is a mandatory parent signature that is required on a daily basis for the remainder of the third and fourth quarter. Nightly reading is also required.

Spelling:

Red Words: Red words for this week are each, enough, even, father, and friend.

Green Words: We will spell and write words that have vowel digraphs, also referred to as "Vowel Teams." These digraphs are often introduced by simply noting that "When two vowels go walking, the first one does the talking." Our "vowel teams for this week are ea and ee.

Spelling test on Friday, March 14, 2014 (red words and ea and ee words)

Reading:

Students will read from various genres each day with common core activities and reading strategies.

Continue to read "Homeward Bound" books each evening for twenty minutes.

Math:

We will continue to review learning how to subtract three-digit numbers, identifying two and three dimensional shapes, fractions, and counting money including the one dollar bill this week.

Study addition and subtraction flash cards in your child's book bag on a nightly basis until mastered.

Continue to practice addition and subtraction math facts, telling time to the nearest 5 minutes, and counting money
