Green Word Pattern -igh

Red Words father and part

Dear Parents,

Red Words

There will be two new red words for the week. The words are father and part. We will be practicing and studying these words in class each day until the test on Friday, April 1^st. Students should continue to review on a weekly basis all of the 3^rd, 2^nd, and 1^st quarter Red Words for a final test of the entire list of Red Words at the end of the year.

Green Words

This week our Green Word pattern will be -igh. The three letters in –igh make one sound—(igh) as in light. Please practice this pattern as your child brings home his/her dictation/activity sheets on Wednesday and Thursday. Please also note that weekly spelling words will come from the dictation pages or words that have this same Green Word pattern.

This week’s final spelling test will be on Friday, April 1, 2016.
