Reading:

Two more reading logs for a total of four will be due on January 14, 2016. Continue to read on a nightly basis.

Math: Lesson 14, Module 3

Science: Number 8 Nature Quest is due by Friday, December 11, 2015.

Spelling: Spelling test tomorrow, Friday, December 11, 2015. Study red words it's and above; vocabulary words, thousands, millions, expanded, believe, because; vowel digraph oo --/oo/ as in zoo and oo -- /oo/as in hoot.

Practice writing the following words: it's, above, because, believe, thousands, millions, expanded, stood, crook, fishhook, brook, woodshed, look, hood, stood, shook, broom, droop, food, and tooth.

Spelling Information for the Week of December 7, 2015 to December 11, 2015

“Green Words”

The students this week will learn the pronunciation for the vowel digraph oo -- /oo/ as in zoo. They will also learn another way to pronounce oo, /oo/ as in good. Students will be given words that contain this vowel digraph pattern on a daily basis. Please refer to the dictation sheets to practice this pattern in various words.

“Red Words”

Our red words for this week are it’s and above.

Please continue to review all first quarter and second quarter red words. These words are as follows: each, call, goes, pull, girl, white, talk, friend, which, very, many, also, black, these, why, around, don’t, its, eye.

“Vocabulary Words”

There will be four additional spelling words this week that include math words and a word that is frequently misspelled in sentence dictation and writing activities. The three math words are thousands, millions, expanded,; and, the frequently misspelled vocabulary word is believe.
