              • Reading: Read on a nightly basis. Document the time spent reading, title of the book, and a parent signature Monday through Thursday.

              • Math: Arp - Module 4, Lessons 23 and 24 (Please complete both for Friday, February 1, 2019.)

              • Grammar: Complete pages 15 and 16, Plural Nouns (Please complete for Friday, February 1, 2019.)

              • Spelling Homework: Spelling test on Friday, February 1, 2019 over the Dictation Pages 1 and 2 for "or" and Red Words ghost, oil, and sure.

              • Red Word Focus

              • The 4th Quarter Red Words for the week will be a review of the words sure, ghost, and oil. These words are non-decodable words and do not follow the rules of phonics. Please remember, each student will have two weeks in a row to practice and receive a 100% as a final grade for the Red Words sure, ghost, and oil. Students will take a final test over these Red Words on Friday, February 1, 2019.

              • Green Word Focus

              • RF.2.3 Know and apply grade-level phonics and word analysis skills in decoding words

              • Our “Green Word” pattern/focus for the week will be or as in horn. Please practice these words as your child brings them home on dictation pages. Weekly spelling words may come from the dictation pages. Students will be expected to apply all classroom information to ten or more of the or pattern words on their Friday, February 1, 2019, spelling test.

              • Reading Focus

              • Our reading focus will continue to be the genre, “Fairy Tales.” Students will identify the elements of fairy tales, recount stories to determine their central message, lesson, or moral, identify character traits, and learn to compare and contrast two versions of the same story. (CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.2.2, 2.9). This week we will compare the two selections, Red Riding Hood and Lon Po Po. Our writing focus will continue to be opinion writing (CCSS. ELA-W2.1), and our grammar focus will be a review of nouns and an introduction to frequently occurring irregular nouns. CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.L.2.1.B

              • On Friday, February 1, 2019, the spelling test will include the Red Words sure, ghost, and oil, and the Green Word Pattern
