Spelling Information for the Week of May 16 to May 20, 2016

Dear Parents,

Red Words

It is time for the end-of-the year Red Word assessment. This week we will be reviewing all of the 1st quarter and 2nd quarter Red Words. The Red Words are as follows:

each, pull, talk, very, black, around, its, above, call, girl, friend, many, these, don’t, eye, goes, white, which, also, why, push, it’s

Green Words

This week our focus will be the review of all 4th quarter Green Word patterns. The patterns are as follows: ow as in (clown), ow as in (snow), ou as in (cloud), igh as in (light), endings: -ble,

-fle, -tle, -dle, -gle, -kle, -ple, -zle, and –tion.

Please practice the words on the Tuesday and Wednesday dictation pages that contain the above Green Word patterns. The dictation sheets will come home in your son/daughter’s folder. Weekly spelling words will come from the dictation pages and words that have similar Green Word patterns.

Please note that this week’s final spelling test will be on Friday, May 20, 2016.
