Please remember that these words are non-decodable words, and they do not follow the rules of phonics. The red words are as follows: each, call, goes, pull, girl, talk, white, friend, which, and very.
Green Word Pattern Focus
Our “Green Word Pattern” focus this week will be a review of the first quarter green word patterns. The green word patterns that were covered over the past 8 weeks have been sent home on dictation pages, classroom activities, and spelling tests. Please review all of these materials and the materials and activities completed this week for the Friday test. Examples of the Green Word Patterns are as follows: (magic e), (vowel teams ea, oa, ai), (-ng and -nk endings), (suffix –ed), and (open and closed syllables).
Once again, students will be expected to apply all previous classroom information and this week’s information to ten or more green word pattern words on the Friday, October 27th Spelling Test.
