Spelling Information for the Week of November 25, 2019 to November 26, 2019

Dear Parents,

Red Word Focus

RF.2.3 Know and apply grade-level phonics and word analysis skills in decoding words.

There will be no Red Word test this week because of the short week.

Green Word Pattern Focus

RF.2.3 Know and apply grade-level phonics and word analysis skills in decoding words

There will be no Green Word test this week because of the short week. We will review the Green Word pattern of “magic e” during class on Monday and Tuesday.

Reading Focus

CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RI.2.1

Ask and answer such questions as who, what, where, when, why, and how to demonstrate understanding of key details in a text.

CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RI.2.5

Know and use various text features (e.g., captions, bold print, subheadings, glossaries, indexes, electronic menus, icons) to locate key facts or information in a text efficiently.

CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RI.2.7

Explain how specific images (e.g., a diagram showing how a machine works) contribute to and clarify a text.

The students will continue to read and complete activities to identify text and graphic features, as well as, facts regarding the Pilgrims and the Native Americans. The students will identify various text and graphic features within the selections, “Pilgrims” and “What Was The First Thanksgiving.

Homework

There will be no homework for this evening. Happy Thanksgiving!
