Spelling Information for the Week of December 14, 2015 to December 18, 2015

Dear Parents,

“Green Words”

The students this week will learn another pronunciation for the vowel digraph ea. The students will learn to pronounce ea, /e/ as in head. Students will be given words that contain this vowel digraph pattern on a daily basis. Please refer to the dictation sheets to practice this pattern in various words.

“Red Words” Review Week!

Our red words for this week are all of our 2nd quarter red words. The red words are as follows: many, also, black, these, why, around, don’t, push, its, it’s, eye, above.

“Vocabulary Words”

There will be four additional spelling words this week that include vocabulary words from our reading selection, “Animals Building Homes.” The words are shaped, branches, building, and eight.

Spelling Test: Our spelling test for the week will be on Friday, December 18, 2015.

Reading: Two more reading logs for a total of four will be due on January 14, 2016. Continue to read on a nightly basis.

Math: Lesson 16, Module 3 Problem Set

Science: Number 9 Nature Quest is due by Friday, December 18, 2015.

Spelling: Homework: Students will write all second quarter red words and vocabulary words 5 times each. This is due on Tuesday, December 15, 2015.
