Spelling Information for the Week of May 2 – May 6, 2016

Dear Parents,

Red Words

Our two new second grade Red Words for the week are shoe and tear. Please continue to practice these words and all 1^st, 2^nd, and 3^rd quarter Red Words for an end-of-the-year Red Word test the middle of May.

Green Words

This week ends our study of “Consonant-le Endings.” The endings are as follows: -fle, -dle,

-kle, and –zle. In class we will be decoding words with these endings. Please practice the words on the Tuesday and Wednesday dictation pages that contain the –le endings. The dictation sheets will come home in your son/daughter’s folder. Weekly spelling words will come from the dictation pages and words that have a similar -le pattern.

Please note that this week’s final spelling test will be on Friday, May 6, 2016.
