Spelling Information

Dear Parents,

Homework: Write the following third quarter Red Words 5 times each for homework: always, other, brother, sister, knew, were, yellow, should, their, sign, buy, and often.

Red Words

There will be no additional red words for this week. Students will need to spell all of the 3^rd, 2^nd, and 1^st quarter red words on their spelling test on Thursday, March 24^th. We will be practicing and studying these words in class each day until the test on Thursday. Please review all first, second, and third quarter words that have already been taught.

Green Words

This week our Green Word patterns will be the review of all of our 3^rd quarter Green Word patterns, or (horn), ar (star), ur (burn), ir (bird), er (fern), and the sounds of /k/, ck (tack), k (seek), and ke (make) patterns. Please practice these patterns as your child brings them home on his/her Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday dictation/activity sheets. Please also note that weekly spelling words will come from the dictation pages or words that have these Green Word patterns.

This week’s final spelling test will be on Thursday, March 24, 2016.
