Spelling Words for the Week of Sept. 9 - 13

Dear Parents,

Once again, your son/daughter will be required to spell five more "red words" on their final spelling test on Friday. In addition, students will be spelling "green words," or words that have phonetic spelling patterns. Our first spelling pattern is words that have a consonant/vowel/consonant pattern with short vowel sounds [Example cat = c (consonant) a (vowel) t (consonant)]. A variety of words with the CVC pattern with various short vowel sounds will be given on the trial test on Thursday. Students will have these words to practice as well as words we have blended and studied during class on their final spelling test on Friday.
