Topaz Cash for Clubs

Caulry have registered for Topaz Cash for Clubs. Topaz Cash for Clubs gives clubs the chance to win money by collecting stamps. We would encourage our supporters to collect the stamps if you are purchasing fuel from Topaz. These stamps will be collected by Ronan Carroll before the 10^th of May. Thank you.

Heart Screening

Heartaid Mobile Cardiac Screening is coming to the park on Saturday 21^st of March. This is open to everyone over 12. You can book by calling 1890 300 333. It is free for anyone with Laya Health Care.

Club Membership

Club membership is due for payment this week to Jason Walker or any committee member.

It is imperative that all players pay their membership immediately as any player who is not a fully paid member is not insured to represent the club.

Division 1 ACFL

Caulry 0-6

Mullingar Shamrocks 0-7

Caulry travelled to Harbour Field on Sunday last to take on Mullingar Shamrocks in their second outing of this year’s Division 1 ACFL and went down by the narrowest of margins on a score line of 0-7 to 0-6.

Mullingar started the match with a well taken free in the 5^th minute. Caulry, aided with the wind in the first half, got their first score from a point in the 10^th minute by David Brookes. Brookes got his second score of the day after the ball had been brilliantly worked up the field by Michael McMahon. Further points from David Brookes and Eoin Fox left two points between the teams at the interval on a score line of 0-5 to 0-3 in favour of Caulry.

Mullingar hit back at Caulry in the second half and by the 39^th minute it was level. Michael McMahon was forced to leave the field after picking up a black card. Caulry were denied a goal in the 42^nd minute and Mullingar began to push on. Joe McMahon restored any hope Caulry had with a brilliant save in the 49^th minute. After being denied a second goal, Caulry had to settle for a point.

Caulry showed great character and never gave up until the final whistle. There were outstanding performances from Alan Fitzpatrick, David Brookes, Declan Donohoe and Aaron Roarke. Even though the match didn’t finish in Caulry’s favour, there were plenty of positives to be taken from the game.
