Intermediate Championship Fixture
Our lads make the journey to Hogan Park, Moate on Saturday evening next for Round 3 of this year’s intermediate championship. The opposition will be provided by Milltownpass in this very important clash where our lads will be hoping to pick up their first brace of points in this year’s campaign. The last championship clash between the sides was the 2018 semi-final decider where the Milltownpass men prevailed on a scoreline of 1-13 to 1-8. With the right attitude and performance, the Caulry lads will be hoping to notch up this vital win. Kick-off is at 6pm and all support is greatly appreciated.
The very best of luck to the team & management.

IFC Round 2
Caulry 2-12
Tang 2-19
A depleted and injury-stricken Caulry side took to the field in Pairc Chiarain for Round 2 of this year’s intermediate championship against Tang where both sides were hungry to pick up their first win of the campaign.
A minute’s silence was observed prior to throw-in in honour of the late Brendan Clarke who played an integral role in managing both sides in recent years. Proceedings then got underway with the first attack from our lads trickling out wide. The first score of the game came moments late from the boot of Conor McCormack after a good intercept from Kevin Maguire. The opposition soon levelled proceedings from a short-range placed ball. Tang then pounced on the Caulry kickout and finished this move by rattling the back of our net to put us on the back foot. Colin Murphy put his name on the scoresheet after a well-constructed team move. However, the men in maroon dominated at midfield which set their forwards up for two unanswered points. Murphy then converted a free before another McCormack point chipped away at the deficit as he combined nicely with Harry Hughes. A decent Tang spell followed which saw them tap over three fine points in as many minutes between the 9th and 12th minutes. The sides then shared six frees between the 15th and 23rd minutes, a period which also saw a number of Caulry attempts failing to pay dividends. Eoin Fox worked tirelessly in the Caulry defence as his hard work reaped rewards on the 25th minute as the ball was worked up the field and sent to the back of the Tang net by Emmet Nally. However, Tang soon re-established their lead with three points before the halftime whistle to leave them leading 1-12 t 1-7.
Our lads raced out of the tracks in the second half with early attacks from Andy O’Sullivan and McCormack becoming lost in the Tang defence. Cillian Nagle dealt well with a high ball in as our lads missed another scoreable chance at the other end of the field. The opposition settled back into the game as their corner forward drove at the Caulry defence as riffled the back of the Caulry net for a second time. O’Sullivan settled for a point at the other end of the field after a goal opportunity went astray. Maguire added to his already impressive display as he made a burst forward and combined with Sleator who helped the ball into the back of the Tang net. Points from Murphy and McCormack left just two points between the sides by the end of the third quarter. However, our lads failed to push on as two Tang points doubled the deficit. Neil Clinton drew one back on the 50th minute. However, Tang went on to outscore our lads 0-5 to 0-1 in the remaining minutes to seal the win on a scoreline of 2-19 to 2-12.

U12 League
Caulry 5-4
Coralstown/Kinnegad 5-11
Our U12 boys hosted Coralstown/Kinnegad in the park on Wednesday evening last.
Lee Corcoran and Brian Doyle combined well early on to set Cian Malone up for a point. A well-taken goal from Ciaran Dunning then put Caulry into an early lead. Coralstown/Kinnegad kicked the next three points of the game. Scores from Lee Fallon and Rory Hatton kept our boys in front. Despite some fine defending from Daniel Lynam and Michael McSharry, the Coralstown/Kinnegad boys added 1-2 in quick succession. Some great play by Dean Martin and Hugo McGowan set Fallon up for a goal as a late point from Brian Doyle saw our boys lead 5-2 to 2-8 at the break.
Both sides were slow to settle in the second half with some early chances falling wide. Dean Martin then kicked the opening score of the half. Fionn O’Donovan was unlucky as he brought off two fine saves before a third attempt from the Coralstown/Kinnegad forwards hit the back of the net. Rory Hatton pointed before late scores for the opposition saw them win on a scoreline of 5-11 to 5-4.
