U21 Championship

Caulry 1-16

Multyfarnham 1-4

Our U21 lads made the journey to Multyfarnham on Saturday afternoon last for their opening game of this year’s U21 Championship where they ran out comfortable winners on a scoreline of 1-16 to 1-4.

Caulry raced out of the tracks with a fine point from Conor McCormack inside the opening 60 seconds. The opposition got off the mark on the 3^rd minute with a pointed-free. Charlie Parker defended well early in the game as the teams traded scores with McCormack on target for Caulry. Some good play from Hugh Allen enabled Killian Healy to rattled the back of the opposition’s net on the 19^th minute. A pointed-free for Multyfarnham drew one back. However, our lads began to dominate proceedings as McCormack and Robbie Hickey tapped over some fine scores. Conor Dolan and Darren Hynds defended well as further points from Eoin Donohoe, Healy and Hickey meant Caulry led 1-9 to 0-3 at the interval.

On the resumption, our lads began to build up a commanding lead with three unanswered points from McCormack. Sean Clinton and Stephen Connolly had impressive displays as a point from Hickey left 13 points the margin by the 45^th minute. Caulry kicked the next two scores of the game. However, the Multyfarnham lads never gave up as they sent the ball to the back of the Caulry net on the 30^th minute. Jack Connaughton added to the scoring tally late in the half to secure Caulry the win on a scoreline of 1-16 to 1-4.
