Club AGM

This year's Club AGM will take place on Friday, November 23^rd, at 8pm in Mount Temple Community Hall. Nomination and Motion papers will be available in the coming weeks. The AGM is a very important event in the club calendar as key Executive positions in the club for 2019 will be filled and plans for the year ahead for various club activities will be discussed. A large attendance of club members and new members is anticipated on the night.

U20 Championship

Caulry 1-9

The Downs 4-16

Our lads bowed out of this year’s U20 Championship as they suffered a strong defeat to The Downs on Friday night last.

Both sides missed some early scoring chances before The Downs kicked the opening score of the game on the 3^rd minute. Colin Murphy then got our lads off the mark on the 9^th minute after combining nicely with Neil Clinton. The Downs ran tirelessly at the Caulry defence with their hard work paying dividends as they slotted over three quick points. Liam Malynn then got Caulry back into the game on the 16^th minute with his goal as he availed of a long ball in from Cialan Dollard dropping just short of the post. The Downs soon regained the lead with a fine point from play. Some tenacious defending from Eoin Shortall denied the opposition a goal opportunity as Malynn levelled proceedings for a second time with a converted-free. Conor McCormack then edged Caulry in front after a fine block down by Emmet Nally in defence. However, this lead was short-lived as the opposition responded with 1-1 in quick succession. A late converted-free from McCormack saw Caulry trail by two at the break on a scoreline of 1-6 to 1-4.

Things went from bad to worse early in the second half as some sloppy Caulry possession saw The Downs triple the deficit with an early 1-1. McCormack tapped over another free before our lads missed some scoreable chances. The Downs began to punch holes in a loaded Caulry defence which saw them rack up an unanswered 2-5 between the 38^th and 47^th minutes. A trio of points from Matthew Nally, Clinton and Malynn reduced the deficit. Ultimately, our lads chased the deficit throughout as late points saw The Downs run out easy winners on a scoreline of 4-16 to 1-9.
