All Ireland Football Final Tickets Draw
Caulry are holding an All Ireland Football Final Tickets Draw on Friday 31st of August 2018 in Egan’s Pub, Mount Temple. There are lots of prizes up for grabs on the night including four tickets for the All Ireland Football Final. Tickets are €5 each or €10 for a book of three and are available from any committee member and Kieran’s shop, Mount Temple.

St. Malachys 2-6
Caulry and St. Malachys served up a thrilling encounter in Hogan Park on Sunday evening last in the second round of this year’s IFC.
Both sides were sluggish to start with some fine defending from Damien Dolan and Sean Clinton breaking down early oppositional attacks. Cialan Dollard opened the scoring tally after Colin Murphy’s initial attempt came back off the post. Dollard soon doubled his tally after a fine pass from Dolan as St. Malachys missed some scoring chances. A foul on Sean Clinton enabled Peter Smyth to convert the resulting free to put our lads three points the good as St. Malachys struggled up front. Cillian Nagle brought off a vital save on the 15th minute as the ball was brilliantly worked up the field by Sean Fox. A free from Colin Murphy kept the scoreboard ticking over as the opposition’s tally of wides increased. Smyth fielded the ball well and combined with Andy O’Sullivan who enabled Murphy to find the net with a composed finish. The opposition got off the mark on the 24th minute with a fine point from play. St. Malachys were then awarded a penalty, which was well blocked down by Cillian Nagle. However, they dug deep and soon found the net on the 28th minute to leave the scoreboard reading 1-4 to 1-1 at the interval.
Caulry’s first score of the second half came three minutes after the resumption of play, this coming courtesy of a Murphy free after O’Sullivan was fouled in the inside forward line. John Maguire and Clinton combined well at the centre of the field to set Eoghan Grennan up for a point. Murphy sent over another pointed-free to put Caulry six points the good. Despite some tenacious defending from Ben Moran and Eoin Fox, the opposition kicked the next two scores of the game. Our lads spurned some scoring chances as a good ball across the field enabled St. Malachys to reduce the deficit to three. The Fox brothers impressed in defence with their hard work paying dividends as St. Malachys missed a goal opportunity. A converted-free from Murphy left five between the sides with just four minutes remaining. However, the opposition dug deep and drew level after reeling off 1-2 despite the best efforts of Stephen Connolly and Moran. After spurning some late chances, Damien Dolan drove forward and kicked the all-important score of the game deep into injury time enabling Caulry to escape with the win on a scoreline of 1-10 to 2-6. Well done lads!
