Caulry GAA PRO Notes 29th August

Intermediate Championship

Unfortunately Caulry bowed out of this year's Intermediate Football Championship when going down to Tang in a Quarter-final tie last Saturday evening in Moate on a scoreline of 1-7 to 0-7 points. After a very slow start Caulry found themselves trailing by 1-3 to no score after 15 minutes following some good play by Tang which included an opportunist goal which looked like it was going to drop short of the goalkeeper but swerved to the left and ended in the back of the net. Caulry rallied before half-time and clawed back 3 points to go in at the interval trailing by 1-3 to 0-3. Raising the momentum in the second half with a couple of well taken points by Alan Fitzpatrick Caulry tried in vain to gain the upperhand but Tang responded with some well taken points of their own to run out winners by a margin of 3 points.

Larry Nugent Under 10 Tournament Finals Day

After a busy day’s football on Saturday last in Caulry, the stage is now set for the finals of the Larry Nugent Memorial Under 10 Tournament this coming Saturday, September 3rd in the Park. Castledaly and Millmore Gaels get football proceedings underway at 10.30am. This will be followed at 11.45am by Moate, Tang-Maryland and Rosemount playing two teams each against one another. Then at 4pm Caulry, Garrycastle and Tubberclaire will play three teams each to finish off what is sure to be an exciting days football. Support for all teams is welcome on the day and help from all club personnel would be most welcome.
