Pat Buckley and Charlie Parker defended well as another goal from Stephen Woods left nine points between the sides. The Rosemount men soon found their feet with a fine point from play. However, our lads dominated proceedings with Peter Smyth tapping over two fine points. The Rosemount goalie brought off a good save on the 16th minute as Loughlin Casey and Mullarney defended well at the other end of the field. Points from Buckley and Keith McMenamin kept the scoreboard ticking over. The teams traded points late in the half with Ernie Buckley on target for Caulry to leave eleven points the margin at the halftime whistle.
After the break, Rosemount took charge with a quick goal early in the half. The Rosemount lads dug deep kicking an unanswered 1-1 to leave just four points between the sides. A converted-free from Smyth steadied our lads somewhat. A point from Jack O’Kelly Lynch stretched Caulry’s lead by the 38th minute. Smyth showed well up front and converted a penalty to leave nine points between the sides.
