Caulry 1.9 St. Michael’s 1.11
Caulry travelled to Ballycomoyle on Monday evening to take on St Michael’s in the league.
St. Michael’s started off the better with a couple of points before Caulry got into the game and scored four unanswered points. The backs came under severe pressure but thanks to some stout defending by Adrian Claffey, Daniel Ledwith and Sean Egan all St. Michael’s could add to their tally was one point. Two more points before half time gave Caulry a three point advantage to take in to the second half
Caulry started off well in the second half with a Killian Healy point and a goal from Robbie Hickey seemed to have Caulry on the road to victory but St Michael’s fought back with four points to leave a goal between the teams. The home side now had the momentum and when they broke through for a goal they went looking for the winner. They had a chance to take the lead when they were awarded a penalty but Conor Tumulty dived to his right to tip the ball round the post for a 45 to keep his team in the game. With the wind advantage St Michael’s piled on the pressure and added on two points to see them to victory.

On Wednesday last May 11th Caulry U12’s hosted near neighbours Moate in the league. Two eleven aside games were played and all four teams put on a good display. Caulry won one game but came out on the wrong side of the other game’s result. Good numbers required at training if improvements are to be made for future games.
Many thanks to Ben Moran and John Maguire who refereed both games to a very high standard.
