Intermediate Semi-Final Win

Well done to all the Caulry Squad & Management Team following the team's injury time goal to snatch a vital one point victory over Tubberclair and qualify for the Club's first Intermediate Football Final in 20 years.

Caulry's opponents in the final in Cusack Park on Sunday, October 7th next will be the combination side from North Westmeath, Castletown/Finea/Coole/Whitehall (CFCW) who defeated Rosemount in the second Semi-final.

So roll-out all those Caulry flags and buntings for the biggest day in twenty years in the Club's history. More details regarding availabilty of Club colours etc for the final will be relayed to all shortly. See details of full match report elsewhere in this newspaper.

Minor Semi-Final

Caulry's opponents for the Minor Club 1 Championship Semi-final will be Athlone and the match will be played this coming Saturday, September 21st at 3.30pm in Tang so let's get out there and support the boys in red in their quest to join the Intermediate squad and qualify for their own County Final.

U13 Football:

Caulry v Kilbeggan/St Josephs

Caulry played host to Kilbeggan/St Josephs on Wednesday 5th September. Two early goals from the devastating full forward Liam Doyle and another ‘special’ from Thomas Dunning, set Caulry on their way in a terrific all round team display. Christian Stephens brought off some brilliant saves including a late penalty to keep a deserved clean sheet and vied with midfielder Sean Fox for man of the match. Sean covered every inch of the pitch and with great support from Dylan Lowry in dominating midfield. Dylan also chipped in with two brilliantly executed goals. Darcy Lawless, having his best game for some time along with the industrious Ciaran Geoghegan, linked play very well. Rian Rasmussen’s speedy bursts quickly turned defence into attack, while Shane Cleary and Eoin Shortall’s displays were also worthy of special mention. After this victory hopefully this team can continue this good form and build momentum into the future.

U13 Football:

Rosemount v Caulry

On Wednesday 12th September Caulry travelled to Rosemount for another league fixture and came away with victory against a young but gallant home team. The power and skill of the Caulry boys meant the result was never in doubt, even though the display was not as fluid as the previous game (on 5th September). Even allowing for the blustery conditions, the shooting will have to improve for stiffer tests ahead. Once again, Christian Stephens kept a clean sheet which included a remarkable save. Jack Sheehan, Zach Nolan and Daniel Buckley were rock solid in defence, while Darren Browne and Sean Fox supplied good ball into the forward line where Adam Mullins and Keith Buckley were full of unselfish running making space for their colleagues.
