Sponsor Our Sod Fundraiser

Work is planned to commence next month on the development of a state of the art all-weather playing pitch and training area on the recently purchased 5 acres of land adjoining the current Caulry playing facilities. This project will be completed with the aid of a recently acquired Sports Council Grant coupled with sponsorship monies to be raised by the Caulry Club itself. To this end the club are launching a 'Sponsor Our Sod' fundraiser initiative, whereupon present and former club members, players, supporters and friends of the club are invited to sponsor a sod on the new playing pitch for €50 and in return all sponsors will have their names permanently displayed and celebrated on a special plaque to be erected on the club grounds. All sponsors will also be entered into a special draw with excellent prizes to be won which will take place at a special club function to be held in Egans, Mount Temple on June 25th next. For more details and sponsorship cards please contact any Executive Committee Member or call Padraig at 086 4083946 or Irvine at 086 8578257.

Minor League

Caulry 3-11

Mullingar Shamrocks 0-3

Caulry picked up their third brace of points in this year’s Minor League as they played host to Mullingar Shamrocks on Sunday morning last.

Caulry were first off the mark with a pointed-free from Conor McCormack. Some good defending from Eoin Shortall allowed Sean Clinton to add to the scoring tally. The homeside stretched their lead as McCormack rattled the back of the Mullingar net on the 9th minute. Points from McCormack, Jack Bradbury Hughes and Clinton left nine points between the sides on the quarter-hour mark. Darren Hynes had a fine game in defence while two superb goals from Sean Woods late in the half left Mullingar Shamrocks trailing 3-8 to 0-0 at the interval.

Charlie Parker and Kevin O’Flaherty defended well as Bradbury Hughes kicked the next two scores of the game. Mullingar Shamrock’s first score came from a pointed-free on the 40th minute. Great fielding from Colin Murphy and Clinton allowed McCormack to point for the homeside. Two Mullingar points narrowed the deficit late in the second half. However, Caulry worked tirelessly throughout to run out comfortable winners on a scoreline of 3-11 to 0-3.

Team & Scorers: Jack Connaughton, Eoin Shortall, Darren Hynes, Adam Mullins, Charlie Parker, Emmet Nally, Kevin O’Flaherty, Sean Clinton (0-3), Colin Murphy, Cialan Dollard, Jack Bradbury Hughes (0-3), Peter O’Kelly Lynch, Conor McCormack (1-5, 4f), Sean Woods (2-0), Liam Malynn
