Son 1:1 ΑΣΜΑ ᾀσμάτων, ὅ ἐστιν τῷ Σαλωμών.

A-songing-to of-songings-to, which it-be unto-the-one unto-a-Salômôn.

Note: at the time of these events, Solomon was king (Son_1:4) and he had 60 wives (Son_6:8). Being that Solomon acquired 700 wives during his 40 yr. reign (920-880 B.C.), most during the first 20 yrs., these events likely occurred early in his reign, i.e. about 918 B.C. (when he was about 23 yrs. old).

A-head of-it a-goldlet and a-faz, tresses of-it firs, blackened as a-raven.

Note: a-faz : transliterated from Hebrew, meaning a-refining, as being pure.

Note: firs : there are 3 classifications of evergreens to which this translation attempts to be true: pine, fir, and spruce. A pine needle grows in clusters of 4 or 5, while the fir needle grows individually directly from the branch, and the spruce needle grows individually from a tiny projection on the branch. The pine tree has a harder wood best for durable construction and has upturned branches making it appear more sparce; the fir and spruce have softer wood. The spruce is the largest of the 3.
