ECCLESIASTES

(881-880 B.C.)

Ecc 1:1 ΡΗΜΑΤΑ Ἐκκλησιαστοῦ υἱοῦ Δαυεὶδ βασιλέως Ἰσραὴλ ἐν Ἰερουσαλήμ.

Utterings-to of-a-calling-out-unto-belonger of-a-son of-a-Daueid of-a-ruler-of of-an-Israêl in unto-an-Ierousalêm.

Note: of-a-calling-out-unto-belonger : someone who's opinion is sought and valued in a-calling-out-unto.

Note: the book of Ecclesiastes is a biography of Solomon's search for purpose and was scribed in his latter yeareednesses. The building of the Temple and other housings left him feeling empty (Ecc_1:14), as did the search for wisdom through experience, where his heart was snared by woman, a fate he calls worse than death (Ecc_2:1-10; Ecc_7:25-28); in the return of his heart to the LORD he concludes that the whole purpose of mankind is to fear God and keep his commandments (Ecc_12:13-14).
