MMa 1:0 Μαρτύριον τοῦ ἁγίου Ματθαίου τοῦ ἀποστόλου.

MMa 1:1 Ὁ ἅγιος Ματθαῖος ἐν τῷ ὄρει καταμόνας μονάζων καὶ εὐχόμενος ἐν χιτῶνι καὶ τῇ στολῇ τῇ ἀποστολικῇ χωρὶς ὑποδήματος, καὶ ἰδοὺ ἐν σχήματι τῶν ψαλλόντων ἐν τῷ παραδείσῳ νηπίων ἦλθεν πρὸς τὸν Ματθαῖον ὁ Ἰησοῦς καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ· Εἰρήνη σοι Ματθαῖε.

MMa 1:2 Ὁ δὲ Ματθαῖος ἀτενίσας αὐτῷ εἶπεν· Χάρις σοι καὶ εἰρήνη ὦ παιδίον κεχαριτωμένον· καὶ τί ὧδε ἐλήλυθας ἐπ᾿ ἐμοί, καταλιπὼν τοὺς ψάλλοντας ἐν τῷ παραδείσῳ καὶ τὴν ἐκεῖ τρυφήν;

MMa 1:3 ὅτι ὅδε ὁ τόπος ἔρημός ἐστιν, καὶ ὁποίαν παραθήσω σοι τράπεζαν ὦ παιδίον ἀγνοῶ, ὅτι ἄρτος οὐκ ἔστιν μοι οὔτε ἐν ἀγγείῳ ἔλαιον, καὶ ἄνεμοι ἡσυχάζουσιν καταβαλεῖν ἐκ τῶν δένδρων τι ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν εἰς τροφήν· ὅτι μόνον εἰς συμπλήρωσιν τῆς νηστείας μου τῶν τεσσαράκοντα ἡμερῶν τῇ κινήσει τῶν ἀνέμων τῶν πιπτόντων καρπῶν μεταλαμβάνων δοξάζω μου τὸν Ἰησοῦν.

MMa 1:4 νῦν οὖν τί προσενέγκω σοι παιδίον καλόν;

Now accordingly to-what-one I-might-have-beared-toward unto-thee, Childlet Seemly?

MMa 1:5 ἀλλ᾿ οὔτε ὕδωρ ἐγγὺς ἵνα νίψω σου πόδας.

MMa 2:1 Καὶ εἶπεν τὸ παιδίον· Τί λέγεις ὦ Ματθαῖε;

And it-had-said, the-one a-childlet, To-what-one thou-forth, Oh Matthaios?

MMa 2:2 σύνες καὶ σοφίσθητι ὅτι λόγος ἀγαθὸς ὑπὲρ μόσχον, καὶ ῥήματα πρᾳότητος ὑπὲρ πᾶν λάχανον τοῦ ἀγροῦ, καὶ φθέγμα γλυκὺ ὡς τὸ μύρον τῆς ἀγάπης, καὶ ἱλαρότης προσώπου ὑπὲρ χορτασίαν, καὶ ὄψις ἀγαθὴ ὡς εἶδος τῆς γλυκασίας.

MMa 2:3 σύνες Ματθαῖε, καὶ γνώσει ὅτι ὁ παράδεισος ἐγώ, ὁ παράκλητος ἐγώ, ἡ δύναμις τῶν ἄνω δυνατῶν ἐγώ, ἡ ἰσχὺς τῶν ἐγκρατευομένων ἐγώ, ὁ στέφανος τῶν παρθένων ἐγώ, ἡ σωφροσύνη τῶν μονογάμων ἐγώ, τὸ φυλακτήριον τῶν νηπίων ἐγώ, ὁ θεμέλιος τῆς ἐκκλησίας ἐγώ, ἡ βασιλεία τῶν ἐπισκόπων ἐγώ, ἡ δόξα τῶν πρεσβυτέρων ἐγώ, ἡ εὐλογία τῶν διακόνων ἐγώ.

MMa 2:4 ἀνδρίζου καὶ ἴσχυε Ματθεία ἐν τούτοις τοῖς λόγοις.

MMa 3:1 Ὁ δὲ Ματθαῖος εἶπεν· Πάνυ με ἔτερψεν ἡ ὅρασίς σου ὦ παιδίον, ἀλλὰ καὶ οἱ λόγοι σου ζωῆς μεστοί εἰσιν·

MMa 3:2 καὶ γὰρ τὸ πρόσωπόν σου ὑπὲρ ἀστραπὴν λάμπει καὶ ὅτι εἶδόν σε ἐν τῷ παραδείσῳ, ὡς ἔψαλλες μετὰ τῶν ἄλλων νηπίων τῶν ἀναιρεθέντων ἐν βηθλεέμ, ἀκριβῶς ἐπίσταμαι·

MMa 3:3 πῶς δὲ ἐνταῦθα ἐλήλυθας ἄφνω, πάνυ με τοῦτο θαυμάζει.

Unto-whither then-also in-unto-the-ones-these thou-hath-had-come-to-come unto-un-manifested, all-now to-me the-one-this it-marveleth-to.

MMa 3:4 ἓν δὲ ἐρωτῶ σε ὦ παιδίον· ἐκεῖνος ὁ ἀσεβὴς Ἡρώδης ποῦ τυγχάνει;

MMa 3:6 οἰκεῖ μὲν ἐν τῷ ᾅδῃ· κατεσκεύασται δὲ αὐτῷ πῦρ ἄσβεστον, γέεννα ἀτελεύτητος, βόρβορος κοχλάζων, σκώληξ ἀκοίμητος, ὅτι τρισχίλια νήπια ἀνεῖλεν φονεῦσαι θέλων Ἰησοῦν τὸ παιδίον, τὸν τῶν αἰώνων πρεσβύτερον· ἀλλὰ τῶν αἰώνων τούτων πάντων πατὴρ ἐγώ εἰμι.

It-houseth-unto indeed in unto-the-one unto-a-hadês; it-had-come-to-be-down-equipped-to then-also unto-it a-fire un-quellable, a-gehenna un-finished-of-unto, a-mud gliddering-to, a-maggot un-situateed-unto, to-which-a-one to-three-thousand to-non-word-belonged it-had-sectioned-up, to-have-slayed-of determining to-an-Iêsous to-the-one to-a-childlet, to-the-one of-the-ones of-ages to-more-eldered; other of-the-ones of-ages of-the-ones-these of-all a-father I I-be.

Note: gliddering-to : formed from the Adjective, used to refer to smooth stones used for throwing or as shingles; here, the Verb, referring to forming those shapes, i.e. bubbling.

MMa 4:1 νῦν οὖν ὦ Ματθαῖε δέξαι τὴν ῥάβδον μου ταύτην, καὶ κάτελθε ἀπὸ τοῦ ὄρους, καὶ εἴσελθε εἰς Μύρνην τὴν πόλιν τῶν ἀνθρωποφάγων, καὶ φύτευσον αὐτὴν πρὸς τὴν πύλην τῆς ἐκκλησίας ἧς ἐθεμελίωσας σύ τε καὶ Ἀνδρέας·

Now accordingly, Oh Matthaios, thou-should-have-received to-the-one to-a-rod of-me to-the-one-this, and thou-should-have-had-came-down off of-the-one of-a-jutteedness, and thou-should-have-had-came-into into to-a-Murnê to-the-one to-a-city of-the-ones of-mankind-devoured, and thou-should-have planted-of to-it toward to-the-one to-a-gate of-the-one of-a-calling-out-unto of-which thou-en-placeeer-belonged thou also and an-Andreas;

MMa 4:2 καὶ ἅμα τῷ φυτεῦσαι ταύτην ἔσται δένδρον μέγα καὶ ὑψηλὸν καὶ πολύκλωνον, καὶ ἐκταθήσονται οἱ κλάδοι αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ πήχεις τριάκοντα, καὶ ἐνὸς ἑκάστου κλάδου ὁ καρπὸς ἔσται διαλλάσσων καὶ τῇ ὁράσει καὶ τῇ βρώσει, καὶ ἀπὸ ἄκρου τοῦ δένδρου καταρρεύσον μέλι πολύ, καὶ ἐκ τῆς ῥίζης αὐτοῦ ἐξελεύσεται πηγὴ μεγάλη, καὶ ἐν αὐτῇ νηκτὰ καὶ ἑρπετά, ποτίζουσα τὴν περίχωρον ταύτην κύκλῳ·

MMa 4:3 καὶ ἀπολούσονται ἐν αὐτῇ οἱ ἀνθρωποφάγοι καὶ φάγονται ἀπὸ τοῦ καρποῦ τῶν δένδρων καὶ τῆς ἀμπέλου καὶ τοῦ μέλιτος, καὶ ἀλλαγήσονται τὰ σώματα αὐτῶν, καὶ αἱ ἰδέαι αὐτῶν μεταλλαγήσονται ὡς αἱ τῶν λοιπῶν ἀνθρώπων, καὶ αἰδεσθήσονται τὴν γυμνότητα τοῦ σώματος αὐτῶν καὶ ἐνδύσονται ἐνδύματα ἀπὸ τῶν κριῶν τῶν προβάτων, καὶ οὐκέτι ἀκάθαρτα φάγονται·

And they-shall-bathe-off in unto-it, the-ones mankind-devoured, and they-shall-devour off of-the-one of-a-fruit of-the-ones of-en-treeings and of-the-one of-a-vine and of-the-one of-a-honey, and they-shall-be-othered the-ones en-capsulings-to of-them, and the-ones sightednesses of-them they-shall-be-othered-with as the-ones of-the-ones of-remaindered of-mankinds, and they-shall-be-un-sighted-unto to-the-one to-a-stripness of-the-one of-an-en-capsuling-to of-them and they-shall-sink-in to-sinkings-in-to off of-the-ones of-rams of-the-ones of-stepped-before, and not-if-to-a-one to-un-cleansabled they-shall-devour;

MMa 4:4 ἔσται δὲ τὸ πῦρ αὐτοῖς εἰς ὑπηρεσίαν, ἑτοιμάζοντες τὰς θυσίας εἰς προσφοράς, καὶ τοὺς ἄρτους ὀπτήσουσιν ἐν πυρί, καὶ ὄψονται ἀλλήλους ἐν ὁμοιώματι τῶν λοιπῶν ἀνθρώπων, καὶ ἐπιγνώσονταί με καὶ δοξάσουσιν τὸν πατέρα μου τὸν ἐν τοῖς οὐρανοῖς.

It-shall-be then-also the-one a-fire unto-them into to-a-rowing-under-unto, readying-to to-the-ones to-surgings-unto into to-bearednesses-toward, and to-the-ones to-adjustations they-shall-roast-unto in unto-a-fire, and they-shall-behold to-other-to-other in unto-an-en-along-belonging-to of-the-ones of-remaindered of-mankinds, and they-shall-acquaint-upon to-me and they-shall-reckon-to to-the-one to-a-Father of-me to-the-one in unto-the-ones unto-skies.

MMa 4:5 νῦν οὖν σπεῦσον Ματθαῖε καὶ κατάβηθι ἐντεῦθεν, ὅτι ἐγγύς ἐστιν διὰ πυρὸς τοῦ σώματός σου ἡ ἔξοδος καὶ τῆς ὑπομονῆς σου ὁ στέφανος.

Now accordingly thou-should-have-hastened, Matthaios, and thou-should-have-had-stepped-down in-also-from, to-which-a-one neared it-be through of-a-fire of-the-one of-an-en-capsuling-to of-thee the-one a-way-out and of-the-one of-a-staying-under of-thee the-one a-wreath.

MMa 5:1 Καὶ ταῦτα εἰπὼν τὸ παιδίον καὶ δοὺς αὐτῷ τὴν ῥάβδον ἀνελήφθη εἰς τὸν οὐρανόν.

And to-the-ones-these having-had-said, the-one a-childlet, and having-had-given unto-it to-the-one to-a-rod it-was-taken-up into to-the-one to-a-sky.

MMa 5:2 ὁ δὲ Ματθαῖος κατῄει ἐκ τοῦ ὄρους σπεύδων ἐπὶ τὴν πόλιν.

The-one then-also a-Matthaios it-was-going-down out of-the-one of-a-jutteedness hastening upon to-the-one to-a-city.

MMa 5:3 μέλλοντος δὲ αὐτοῦ εἰσιέναι εἰς τὴν πόλιν ὑπήντησαν αὐτῷ Φουλβανὰ ἡ γυνὴ τοῦ βασιλέως καὶ ὁ υἱὸς αὐτοῦ Φουλβανὸς καὶ ἡ τούτου γυνὴ Ἐρβᾶ, οἵτινες ὑπῆρχον ἐν πνεύματι ἀκαθάρῳ, καὶ ἐβόουν κράζοντες· Τίς σε ἤγαγεν ἐνταῦθα πάλιν Ματθαῖε, ἢ τίς ἔδωκέν σοι τὴν ῥάβδον ἐπὶ τὸν ἡμῶν ὄλεθρον;

MMa 5:4 ὁρῶμεν γὰρ καὶ τὸν παῖδα Ἰησοῦν τὸν υἱὸν τοῦ θεοῦ σὺν σοὶ ὄντα.

We-seeee-unto too-thus and to-the-one to-a-child to-an-Iêsous to-the-one to-a-Son of-the-one of-a-Deity together unto-thee to-being.

MMa 5:5 μὴ μέλλε οὖν ὦ Ματθαῖε φυτεῦσαι τὴν ῥάβδον εἰς τροφὴν καὶ εἰς μεταμόρφωσιν τῶν ἀνθρωποφάγων.

Lest thou-should-pend accordingly, Oh Matthaios, to-have-planted-of to-the-one to-a-rod into to-a-nourishing and into to-an-en-forming-with of-the-ones of-mankind-devoured.

MMa 5:6 εὗρον δὲ τί ποιήσω σοι· ἐπειδὴ γὰρ ἐφυγάδευσάς με ἐκ τῆς πόλεως καὶ ἐκώλυσας μὴ ἐκτελεῖσθαί μου τὰ θελήματα ἐν τοῖς ἀνθρωποφάγοις, ἰδοὺ ἐπεγείρω ἐπὶ σὲ τὸν βασιλέα τῆς πόλεως ταύτης καὶ κατακαύσει σε ζῶντα.

I-had-found then-also to-what-one I-shall-do-unto unto-thee; upon-if-then too-thus thou-flee-hithered-of to-me out of-the-one of-a-city and thou-prevented lest to-be-finished-out-unto of-me to-the-ones to-determinings-to in unto-the-ones unto-mankind-devoured, thou-should-have-had-seen, I-rouse-upon upon to-thee to-the-one to-a-ruler-of of-the-one of-a-city of-the-one-this and it-shall-burn-belong-down to-thee to-lifing-unto.

MMa 5:7 Ὁ δὲ Ματθαῖος ἑνὶ ἑκάστῳ τῶν δαιμονιζομένων χεῖρας ἐπιθεὶς τοὺς μὲν δαίμονας ἐφυγάδευσεν, τοὺς δὲ ἀνθρώπους ἐποίησεν ὑγιεῖς· καὶ ἠκολούθησαν αὐτῷ.

MMa 6:1 Οὕτως δὲ καταδήλου γεγονότος τοῦ πράγματος μαθὼν ὁ ἐπίσκοπος Πλάτων τὴν παρουσίαν ἁγίου ὑπήντησεν αὐτῷ σὺν παντὶ τῷ κλήρῳ, καὶ πεσόντες εἰς τὴν γῆν κατεφίλουν τοὺς πόδας αὐτοῦ.

Unto-the-one-this then-also of-distincted-down of-having-hath-had-come-to-become of-the-one of-a-practicing-to having-had-learned, the-one a-scouter-upon a-Platôn, to-the-one to-being-beside-unto of-hallow-belonged, it-under-ever-a-oned-unto unto-it together unto-all unto-the-one unto-a-lot, and having-had-fallen into to-the-one to-a-soil they-were-caring-down-unto to-the-ones to-feet of-it.

MMa 6:2 ὁ δὲ Ματθαῖος ἤγειρεν αὐτοὺς καὶ ἀπῄει σὺν αὐτοῖς εἰς τὴν ἐκκλησίαν· καὶ ἦν σὺν αὐτῷ τὸ παιδίον.

The-one then-also a-Matthaios it-roused to-them and it-was-going-off together unto-them into to-the-one to-a-calling-out-unto; and it-was together unto-it the-one a-childlet.

MMa 6:3 γενόμενος δὲ ὁ Ματθαῖος πρὸς τὸν πυλῶνα τῆς ἐκκλησίας, στὰς ἐπὶ τινος ὑψηλοῦ καὶ ἑδραίου λίθου, καὶ τῆς πόλεως πάσης συνδραμούσης, μάλιστα τῶν πεπιστευκότων ἀδελφῶν, ἤρξατο λέγειν· Ἄνδρες καὶ γυναῖκες οἱ παρόντες τῇ ἡμετέρᾳ θέᾳ, οἱ τὸ πρὶν τὸ πᾶν πιστεύοντες,

MMa 13:3 καὶ ἐλθόντες λέγουσιν τῷ βασιλεῖ ὡς Οὐδένα εἴδομεν, πλὴν ὅτι φωνῆς ἠκούσαμεν ὡς δύο ὁμιλούντων ἀνθρώπων.

MMa 30:5 Καὶ εἰπὼν ὁ Ματθαῖος Εἰρήνη πᾶσιν τοῖς ἁγίοις, ὤφθη μετὰ δύο ἀγγέλων βαδίζων, καὶ ἀναβαίνων εἰς οὐρανόν, ὅπου ὁ βασιλεὺς τῆς δόξης ἐν δεξίᾳ τοῦ πατρὸς Ἰησοῦς Χριστός· ᾧ ἡ δόξα εἰς τοὺς αἰῶνας.
