We took off at 16:58 Pacific Time yesterday. There were 364 passengers with 15 crew and 3 pilots on board.

Our route (across Canada and out south of Greenland and Iceland) was expected to take 9 hours and 45 minutes. In the end we landed at 10:40 UK time, 5 minutes faster than expected.

This was an overnight flight. As it was quite long I attempted to get into a longer film to pass the time. I watched Wolf of Wall Street (good) and The Lego Movie (OK) before trying to catch some shut-eye.

Once back in the UK, we were fortunate that our bags were amongst the first off the carousel. Even the car was at the right location (remember we'd flown out of Heathrow and back into Gatwick, so the car needed to be moved to the new airport - the first time we'd had this done).

Even the trip back home went smoothly - the heavy traffic seemed to be on the other side of the road.

We're both exhausted now - but of course we need to try and get back into UK time by staying up as long as we both can.
