[12:12 BST]

Back in the UK!

We had a very quick trip back over the Atlantic. At times we were receiving a headwind of over 100mph according to the on-line map.

Actual landing time after 7am

The image above shows us getting into Heathrow at 6:54. In actual fact we arrived just ahead of schedule, then proceeded to circle above London whilst we waited for a landing slot. On our final pass we flew quite low over the Thames, so we were able to spot Tower Bridge, the Eye, Parliament, Wembley and a few other locations before we finally touched down.

Quite quickly through immigration, however once through there was a 'technical issue' with the unloading of the cases. This meant we all stood around waiting for them to be unloaded manually. Fortunately, our four were one of the first to appear!

Simple drive back through London on the way home - not much about at 9am in the morning.

Starting to unpack now - I noticed that we had one of our cases searched. The combination had been left just one out from the actual combination when I was sure I'd left it at 0-0-0. Sure enough, there was a TSA piece of paper saying the case had been inspected. At least they'd relocked it afterwards (even though we had the key!)
