I set up an overnight time-lapse to try and test this GoPro's night-lapse feature.

Looks OK for a first attempt. The problem I had initially is that the pool light is overpowering when it's on, whiting out the images. Eventually (after midnight I think) the pool light is turned off, so it's a lot better.

I'll try that again another time.

Here's the forecast for the next week

Which bears out the current humid feel to the area. Once a 'cold' front passes over us in Sunday it should be a lot more pleasant. As it's very humid, we're going to go down to the beach for a while today.

One of the benefits of staying in an apartment is that there's usually a few extras laying around which the owners or other guests leave behind. We have a few of those, including a couple of beach chairs. Sadly they are a bit fragile looking so we decided to get a couple of more sturdy chairs from a shop. Linda found a couple for $14 each in WalMart, so we drove down there to buy them. Whilst in there, we went past the pastry aisle...

We were not tempted, despite the 'accidental' description below!

We did pick up a couple of groceries which were disappearing faster than we though they would and headed back home, stopping off for out first Starbucks of the holiday.

After lunch we decided to go down to the beach for a couple of hours to try out our new chairs.

They performed admirably! Indeed it was a very pleasant couple of hours down in the cooling breeze coming in off of the sea. The sunset was over cloudy, meaning we got a couple of interesting shots (see below in the slideshow) but nothing really outstanding.

We decided to have a smaller lunch in the apartment tonight. My first test of the appliances we have here.
