Early Riser

This morning I was awake just before sunrise, so I went for a walk along the beach.

Although the sun rises over the back of the apartments, it still lit up the clouds over the whole sky as it rose.

There was also an odd effect briefly in the sky, a rainbow where I couldn't detect any rain.

After breakfast, Linda wanted to go to a nearby nail-bar as she'd managed to damage one of her nails. Fortunately, they were close by, in the block next to Publix. Unfortunately, the sky was dumping more tropical rain again so we both got soaked. Linda got wet getting out of the car and whilst she was in there, I popped to get some stuff from Publix and got soaked packing the car up.

On our return we slowly realised that it was rather warm in the apartment. We'd originally set the aircon to mid 70's but it refused to drop below 79'F for some reason.

Whatever we did, the thermostat wouldn't drop below 79'F

In the end I called the rental company who, to their credit, got someone over pretty quick.

The confirmed that the temperature was high (!) and checked over the device inside the apartment. However, the main part of the device is on the roof and as the weather was pretty much still torrential rain, this wasn't a safe way to progress.

Instead, they loaned us a portable AC unit and said they'd arranged for the maintenance company to come over first thing tomorrow.

Another sunset wash out - we've not had a decent one yet really. I cooked a meal in the apartment for tonight.
