[18:03]

We are here in Boston... finally. The first night right after we had landed was a dire drive. This drive today into Boston wasn't much better. The rain was pretty much constant throughout the day and we were driving down the free-way. I tell you, those big trucks spew out a frightening amount of water spray at 65MPH.

A wet drive to Boston

Leaving the Ale House Inn this morning, we had to pack the car in the rain. Once packed, we checked out and then popped along to the high road to get some breakfast, taking advantage of the fact that we were still valid for parking opposite the hotel for the day. We then were off and away, heading down to Boston in the rain.

We actually went past Boston initially, heading instead to an Outlet Mall called the Wrentham Village, south of Boston. We walked around there for a while, again in the rain!

Finally, we headed back North once again towards Boston, traffic was heavy coming into the city from the south, even though rush-hour should be going the opposite way.

The city rises in the distance

We finally arrived at the hotel at 4:30pm.

We are up on the 10th floor and have a good view overlooking the harbour and across to the airport. It's sometimes a little odd to catch a jumbo in the side window as it climbs after take off - it looks very weird so close to the city.

Linda's just going through the well worn semi-unpack routine. Then I guess we will go out and see what's about.

Linda's taken advantage of the pillow menu - you can order 13 different types of pillow. She's ordered some Swedish-Memory - ooh get 'er!

Blimey, now she's looking through the in-room dining!!!
