Monday 13th October
Even with the late finish yesterday, we still were both awake before 5:00. It was still dark outside so Linda's taken the opportunity to finish the unpacking. I was planning to update my blog... but the internet appeared to be down. The router is feeding out WIFI OK but the connection light is flashing so I hope it's something at their end as that will hopefully be fixed. We've no number to call for internet support, so that will probably be another thing for the rental place later.
We ended up waiting a couple of hours before I gave up and looked online for a PDF on the router. Fortunately, my phone had a moderate data connection and I eventually managed to work out how to reset the router. Luckily it worked!
So we're back on-line. Here, have a photo of outside.
So Linda finished the unpacking and we grabbed some breakfast from the items we'd bought last night.
Linda Skyped back home for a while. Next stop is to get changed and head back to the shops to get the last part of the stuff we will need for the coming two weeks.
Before we got a chance to leave for the shops, I took a call from the rental company. They were actually calling about a maintenance issue, but I took the opportunity to explain to the woman what had happened the night before. She took down the information and said she'd get back to us.
The maintenance issue was supposed to be a leaky sink in the main bathroom. A guy turned up to have a look but said the issue appeared to have gone away, so he left soon after. This at last gave us time to go out for our groceries, stopping at Publix and Target to load up on stuff for the two weeks, plus a new iron and hairdryer as both failed to pass the Linda seal of quality.
Then it was back to the apartment for some lunch and a quiet time out on the balcony until the sun set for the day.
Then it was back indoors into the cool. It has got a lot more humid this evening.
