Tropical Storm Nestor

As I type this, there's a storm outside off the Gulf Coast, it's passing to the North West of us, but we can see the lightning out to sea and the rain is coming down steadily.

Washout

Even from first light, the cloud was 100% coverage, although at least the humidity of a couple of days ago has dropped off. Still we had planned to do a last dip in the pool, but by the time we were done with the pre-packing, it was raining steadily.

That cleared the beach of even the most steadfast visitors.

Checking In

We'd kept an eye on the flight status of the plane coming out to us. Throughout most of the day it was reporting we'd have delays of an unspecified length.

Nestor has only just been given a name, but it's planning to track through the Tampa area and over the airport tonight, so it could still give us issues tomorrow.

We managed to check in OK though, so we're on schedule to get to the airport as planned.

Meal in the Rain

We are heading to RJ Gators for our last meal here until next year...

I had a burger - very nice.

Linda has a 'small' chicken fingers. I don't know how large these chickens were which generated this meal! Each one was nearly 6 inches long.

Back Home

It was still raining steadily on the drive home. Although for the moment the lightning has stopped. The storm is expected to continue overnight. Indeed, watching the weather forecast tonight they are issuing a couple of tornado warnings in some areas of Central Florida. I doubt we'll see anything like that where we are though.

Last Day

So we're back in the apartment. Mostly packed up now. We will need to check the flight status tomorrow morning. Hopefully we'll be OK.
