Wednesday 15th October
Today was my birthday! It started with a rather damp looking scene as the last of the rain passed over us. Somewhere one of our windows has developed a leak so if it rains in a certain direction (as it has for the past two days) the rain gets inside the window frame somehow and drips down onto the inside of the window sill. It's enough to wake you up with the drip drip.
As we've done over the past few years, we start the morning of my birthday with a trip to IHOP. We could see the large puddles on the road as we set off.
So it must have rained a fair amount overnight.
After breakfast we swung past Walmart to pick up a couple of bits. As it's October, they are in full Halloween mode. Here's their sweet aisle.

I drove to the rental office and let them know of the possible issue with the window. It might be something in the roof area, so they'll need to contact another company to get someone to have a look.
Back at base we decided to have a couple of hours on the beach which was quite nice. Although there's still a healthy breeze coming in off the sea, the sky was almost totally blue.
We stayed there until just before six, then had a quick swim in the pool before returning to the apartment to get ready for the evening meal, off at the Outback steakhouse.
Aside from a elongated ordering process, a metal spine found on a chicken wing (from a wire brush apparently - free desserts followed soon after!) a missed topping on Linda's steak and a whole tray of drinks being smashed near our table it was an uneventful evening! Still - the food was nice and the free desserts were taken away for later consumption.
