Forecast for the next couple of days isn't pretty. A weather system which, if the sea was warmer would become a tropical storm, is sitting over us with no real inclination to move for a day or so. Indeed it's still drizzling/raining this morning and the wind is a little higher - meaning it has dropped in temperature to mid 70's (almost 10' in a couple of days).

Still, we have some leeway still in what we can do at the parks. So we've swapped today's planned Animal Kingdom / EPCOT Fireworks (which is mainly outdoors) to Universal Studios (mainly indoors). Looks like we will do AK/E on Saturday - it means it'll be busier, but there's not much else we can do.

Other day's plans:

Wednesday - WDW

Thursday - tbd

Friday - Hollywood Studios (MGM) [Star Wars day]

Saturday - tbd

Sunday AM - tbd

OK - there's only so much rain a person can take in a day. Looking at the weather reports tonight on TV there are places in Florida who have received a FOOT of rain TODAY. I can well believe it as the rain just didn't stop from the moment we got up - it's still raining hard now. The rain scale has fluctuated from moderate to hard to very hard to torrential to tropical. Yes tropical - you know - the type of rain where your visibility is limited over 10 feet away.

As I said - it was like this all day. My manly attempt to not wear a plastic bin liner poncho meant I had to rely on my hat. Sadly, big though it is, it slowly got more and more wet through so by the time we left is was thoroughly drenched.

Actually - photos cannot do it justice...

Aside from the rain, we did manage to do a few rides. The Simpsons ride was the first we went past, so as it was only 10 minutes wait we did that straight away. We also managed MIB (20 minutes - and the locker charged me $3 for it's 'free' service), ET (5 minutes), Mummy (15 minutes on single rider!), Jimmy Newtron (10 minutes) and Twister (10 minutes).

We skipped Jaws (40 minutes), Shrek (45), Disaster (60) and Terminator (40) as these were not worth waiting for.

We left the park at 3pm, after about 4.5 hours.

The trip home was pretty bad too - the standing water was making massive rooster sprays from the car and it was making handling the car difficult. Even on double fast wipe the windscreen was difficult to see through.

We stopped off at another outlet mall (The Loop??) to visit the JC Penny there.

Dinner at Perkins - excellent Chicken Pie!

Back home to dry off. Thank goodness for the tumble dryer!

As I'm typing this it's still raining. There might be a storm somewhere now as Linda has mentioned that the satellite receiver on the TV has 'lost' all but CNN, so I guess a transmitter might be down somewhere. At least the net is still going! Phew :D
