Saturday October 23rd

[20:56 EDT]

As it was our last day on the coast, I popped out in the morning for some sunrise shots.

We'd packed up most of our stuff last night, but it was this morning that we had to play musical cases as we moved stuff from one to the other, trying to get them all under the 23KG limit. It got to the stage that three cases registered as under 23 and one was just above. That seemed to be the best we could manage so we packed it all into the back of the car and headed off back along the 528 towards Orlando.

By the time we arrived at Downtown Disney, it was after 11am - there was still a long line of people waiting to check in, but fortunately, there was still a priority check-in running so we could skip the whole line! It's one of the few perks of flying PE on Virgin that is worth the extra. Shame we still have to pay the $10 to check-in there though :(

As we'd had no breakfast yet, we drove over to a nearby Perkins where there was a 10 minute wait to be seated (and this is for Breakfast!). It was worth the wait though.

All this meant that we didn't reach Disney's Hollywood Studios until after midday. We knew there wasn't much time to do anything substantial, so we'd agreed to wander around HS for a couple of hours before heading to the airport. It's just a pity that a SINGLE day at Disney is so flipping expensive (£50 each!) Trouble was, there was too long to kill for use to just go to a Mall (we couldn't buy anything as we'd already checked out baggage by now) or wander the streets aimlessly, so we had to go somewhere.

HS was not as busy as I'd expected. Just a shame that a couple of the attractions were down for maintenance - including Aerosmith. I did get a couple of Fast Path tickets to the Hollywood Tower of Terror though - such a great ride!

We caught the Beauty and the Beast show and the Indy show and by then time was ticking on, so we had to leave.

Getting back to the car - which had been in the hot sun for most of the day, we came across a sad KitKat that had been left in the heat all day. Despite our best efforts with the air-con, the bar was pronounced soup soon after.

We were back in the airport 30 minutes later. I'd been expecting an issue when returning the car - as it wasn't the same one that we'd started out with. However, it was all straight forward and nothing was said.

Back into the airport proper and we had just enough time to grab a coffee before heading out to the boarding gate. Loading was delayed because there were an unusual number of wheelchair users to be loaded on first. We left the ground at 20:15 (45 minutes late).

Flight time is a quick 7h 50minutes which means we should arrive just a little before the expected arrival time - somewhere around 8:50 tomorrow morning.

[22:00 EDT]

Flight so far has been a bit bumpy - but other than that (and not having any power to run the laptop), it's been OK.
