Monday 7th October 2019

We were our early this morning to head over to Bayfront Beach. On arrival it was actually high tide, so there wasn't any beach to sit on. Still, we set up ourselves on the edge of the beach and sat there for a couple of hours, reading our kindles. Linda has completed her 5th book now, I'm still going through one I started last year!

The Sun and the Rain

Whilst we were sitting there, we had a couple of light showers of rain pass over us. As it's so warm here, we didn't bother with the first one, but for shower two, we moved temporarily back to one of the shelters at the edge of the beach,

Double Scoop

Before we headed back to the apartment, we stopped at the local ice cream place. It's pretty much remained unchanged in all the years we've been coming here. We both had a couple of scoops of ice cream in a cup. Yum.

Back from the Deep

We also had a quick look at the fishing pier which is under construction once more.

This was mostly destroyed by hurricane Irma in September 2017. Indeed, part of the new pier was damaged by a barge just last month. Work is still progressing. So I don't think it'll be open until next year by the looks of things.

We spent a hour or two back up at the apartment before going down for a swim. The weather is cooler today and a lot cloudier. It threatened rain whilst we were in the pool and once we'd got out, the promise delivered. Indeed, it rained on and off for most of the evening as well which made the drive out a little trickier - their drainage on roads leaves a little to be desired as some have no run-off at all.

Evening Meal

The evening meal was at IHOP. It's a Monday night and the photo on the right shows all the customers (plus me) who were in the place at one point. Still, it meant the food came up on time and was nicely cooked.

Drove home in yet more rain.
