Yikes!

Yikes!

[12:36 EDT]

Yup, today I clock up a half century. As is usual when we go away in October, we went down to IHOP for a birthday breakfast.

We drove back from there to Manatee avenue (the other bridge onto Anna Maria) and stopped off at a CVS. The reason for the stop - we're both bitten to high heaven. Sometime in the last couple of days (Linda thinks Thursday night) we were both bitten by something flying. So we're both itching like crazy and Linda stopped to get some sprays and potions to help us out.

Last night I did another time-lapse overnight, but with the moon being so bright, it's difficult to see any stars!

[17:03 EDT]

Back in the apartment after a couple of hours over at the north end of the island. Every year there's an event called Bayfest which brings together musicians, sellers and classic cars in a free event.

We arrived around 3pm which is a few hours after it started. The musicians were down one end and the cars at the other. There were lots of cars there all in very good condition.

As we were walking along they were giving out the prizes for the best in show. There are lots more car photos in the photo album at the bottom of the page.

Once the prize giving was over, quite a few owners drove off, which gave us a chance to hear the cars as well as look at them.

Some of them were very loud.

It might be that the owners were trying to avoid the bad weather that was threatening.

We stopped off at another kettle corn seller - a different one to last time.

Mmmm more corn

We then walked back to the car and was on our way back when the rain finally hit.

The rain arrived

It only lasted a while, but left some large puddles along the road - bad news for people in convertibles.
