[06:27 PDT]

Woke up early this morning. Unfortunately, the rest of the hotel was still fast asleep as it was just after 1am in the morning. Our body clocks haven't quite adjusted for the 8 hour difference just yet.

We confirmed our San Francisco tour yesterday. Despite what the blurb said, the tour place said they'd pick us up from the hotel this morning (we're supposed to make our own way there).

So we're off for a SF tour together with a visit to Alcatraz island. See later for pictures of Linda behind bars !!!

[22:45 PDT]

Before we got to Alcatraz, we started off with a coach tour of the San Francisco area. The parks, civic centre, Golden Gate bridge, Twin Peaks and Fisherman's wharf were all visited. It was very cloudy though for most of the day, which was a shame as some of the views were totally obscured - especially up the Twin Peaks hill.

When we reached the Golden Gate bridge, there were small gaps in the cloud and is finally cleared as we boarded the boat for Alcatraz.

Spent a couple of hours there - liked the audio tour a lot, the added sound effects really enhanced the experience.

Back on dry land, we had a late dinner at the Rainforest Cafe. That included my peanut butter ice cream. Mmmmm !

The temperature is quite low at the moment, 10' lower than average. However, Linda's on the case - a new sweatshirt is sitting on the side here. I think we'll need it for the Segway tour tomorrow!
